Anyone suggest a good gpu that will power 2-3 monitors for gaming. Do I need dual graphics?

Multi monitor gaming card for €300 you probably want a Radeon 7950 then :)

Could pay a bit more if it helps my case.

Well it depends on how many monitors exactly and what resolution.
2 monitors is kind of crap as most of the action is in the middle where the screens divide. 3 monitors looks much better but that's a very high resolution to drive.
What type of games do you like to play?

New enough to pc gaming but its something I always enjoy.
Farcry , battfield, skyrim would be my interests. I have two pc hd monitors, one is 3d ready. I am going to buy another at christmas. What should I do with graphics card?

Well I don't have a multi monitor gaming setup, so I probably don't know enough to give the best advice. Maybe someone else on here can help.

But if you were gaming on 3 1080p monitors you would probably need to drop some of the quality settings to get a good frame rate even on a fairly high end card.

If your motherboard supports it you could use dual graphics cards, which would give a nice boost to performance. This would be very expensive though as two high end cards will set you back about €600.

Would it be possible to spec me a gaming PC for €2000 max? Dont need windows or other stuff buying monitor off a friend. Hoping to get parts before Xmas or new year. Want to future proof it as best I can. I think I will get two high end graphics cards in my build. Got permanent job last month so going to treat myself to something good now.

With that budget it must of been a good job, congrats :)

    Item|Price
    Intel Core i5-3570K Box, LGA1155|€207.02
    ASRock Z77 Extreme4, Sockel 1155, ATX|€127.04
8GB-Kit Corsair Vengeance Low Profile schwarz PC3-12800U CL9|€36.74
    Crucial M4 128GB SSD 6,4cm (2,5")|€95.54
    Seagate Barracuda 7200 2000GB, SATA 6Gb/s|€88.02
    Corsair Enthusiast Series TX750 V2|€101.68
    2 x EVGA GeForce GTX 670 Superclocked+, 4GB GDDR5, PCI-Express|€839.18
Cooler Master Storm Trooper, ohne Netzteil|€129.00
Corsair Hydro Series H100 (Sockel 775/1156/1366/AM2/AM2+/AM3/FM1)|€103.99
    Shipping|€18.99
    Total|€1747.20

Let me know what you think.

I have included two high end nvidia cards, these are just slightly lower performance than the top end card. I don't think it's worth paying the premium price just to have the top of the range card that's only a little faster.

Some people might recommend 2 Radeon cards in crossfire.
I have heard of more people having trouble with dual radeon cards then dual nvidia. Now this may or may not be the case, having never owned dual graphics cards I don't have any experience with it.

5760x1080 is a 3 monitor setup, frame rates look good with gtx 670 sli

670's in SLI are good, tbh those benchmarks are ancient, AMD drivers have come a long way since.

I would suggest xfire 7950's or 7970's as AMD cards perform a bit better at 5760 x 1080, I'm running have two reference 7970's xfired and clocked at 1100/1500 and getting about 85 FPS average on BF3 at 5928x1080 (bezel corrected), with no issues since 12.9 drivers & CAPS.

Also eyefinity is much more forgiving especially if you are mixing monitor brands which I think the OP is-Nvidia 2D surround requires that all three monitors are set to a common resolution, refresh rate, and sync polarity. I would also go with an 850W PSU for 7970's, especially if you are overclocking them.

It's good to hear from someone who actually has a setup like this

You could go for two of these if you decide to go for Radeon

Actually not a bad price since that is Radeons top of the line gpu at the moment.

With this power supply as those cards use more power than the nvidia

I recommend bumping that 128 gig SSD to a 256 if he's got the budget for it. They fill up fast!!

This. I got gtx 680 and it is not great for 3 monitor gaming. On bf3 I have to waaaay scale down everything.
As glyph mentioned nvidia surround is tifs, I can confirm it. AMD is way longer in this eyefinity business and got it welling way better then nvidia. With AMD you can pretty muchatch any 3 1080p monitors where's nvidia being pure ass and wants 3 se monitors and they all have to have same polarity. Things is even same brand and model monitors can have different polarities. There is sort of a fix for it where you force same drivers on all monitors, but even then every single time you restart it turns tits up and you will need to feck around to get native resolution.

So anyway, so far the best bet is to get 2x7950 royal king editions from 3dclub.

OP , did you played with 3 monitors before or even tried it? It sounds cool, but it is not as great as you imagine..I suggest try it out somewhere first as its not for everyone. I wanted such setup for ages, but in the end I played around with it for few hours and went back to 1080p and have 2 monitors for other stuff.. One high resolution monitor might be way better idea.

Multi monitor was definitely a grower for me, now though I hate playing a game single screen. Even though I barely look at the side screens, a single screen game looks like I'm wearing blinkers now.

Once its set up correctly its excellent, it used be a serious pain in the hole looking for fixes & hacks, modding config files to get the correct FOV etc. Now a lot of the newer games work perfectly out of the box, supportig higher res' with adjustable field of view sliders. There are also two great free programs for older games-widescreenfixer & flawless widescreen.

Definitely have a good play about with a similar set-up if you can first though Amprodude.

Well I have 3 monitors (2 vga connection monitors) that i could try out and see if it works to my liking. Just to see if i like gaming with 3 monitors. This wouldnt be at high quality settings of course.
