What games do you play, what resolution and what settings?

That would probably be the best you can get for that budget

What's the rest of your system like and what games do you want to play on the new gpu? Also what resolution do you play at?

It's a common misconception that the amount of VRAM is the most important factor, the GPU core that the card uses is much more important. VRAM over 1GB only helps when gaming at very high resolution(over 1080p) , a low to mid end card can't game at these resolutions so it's pointless.
For around €150 a 1GB 7850 is the best value for money.
    For around €100 a 1GB 7770 is good

The 7850 is a good bit faster though.

I've a imedia a5518 uk(I think), with 3gbs of ddr2 ram and an AMD x4 9650 2.3ghz. I play modern warfares and battlefield etc on solo campaigns, arkam asylum, transformers gta4. I have to keep them on low settings to get decent fps and am looking to get them to high and maybe ultra if its possible without too much lag. I cant remember what resolutions as I've just brought it downstairs to the big tv and have been messing around with the settings to see what looks good.

I'd been playing black ops 2 on low to get a good frame rate and decided to stick it up to high to see what I was missing, I should of left it as forbidden fruit, because I can't go back to the plain textures I was at before. :(

I'm not familiar with the imedia a5518 and it's difficult to find info about it online.
I don't know if its power supply is powerful enough for the 7850.
The 7770 might be a safer bet. Black ops 2 is not very demanding for newer graphics card so you should see a big improvement.

What gpu do you have now? You can see it in windows device manager under display adaptors.
Have a look at the back and maybe inside the case to find the watt of the power supply.
I need to make sure it can even power a 7770

I've bought the saphire 7750 1gb ddr5 on advice from a friend. The 77's seemed popular here and hwcompare shows a big increase in nearly all sections. As for the PSU, its a ****ty 400w stock psu from an old pc that I bought for a tenner to replace the original, however I'm looking for a new one at the mo...thinking this should suit me

Anyone see a reason to avoid it?
