Sounds like you didn't fit the filter before using the vac.

Yes, I've had the same problem exactly. I cleaned both filters etc. but the problem remained. I did notice the gauge was red even though all filters were clean. Took it back to Lidl yesterday and got a replacement - no quibble. Having the exact same problem with the new one. I must be doing something wrong but can't figure it out. The gauge is not red (yet) on the new one, but the entire downstairs of my house is covered in dust.
Did you have any luck with yours?

sorry to hear about your problem, must be a common fault on some of these units, must admit I got a replacement for mine and found it perfect, makes me wonder if there was a bad batch that somehow got through, anyway good luck if you do consider another one,all the best

I have the same problem, it vacuums up the ashes and also spews the ash all around the room ,covering the furniture and curtains . There must be a design fault ,or a gasket missing somewhere in the works. I bought mine from Lidl at the end of last Winter and did not begin to use it until the start of the current Winter. Consequently I have not approached Lidl for a replacement as it would be outside their 30 day return period. I have cleaned both filters and checked all the fittings ,but to no avail. I guess I will have to dump it and just use the bucket for household duties ,as the rest of it is useless.
    Johnny .

hi johnny, still having the same problem,I have that by draping an old sheet or similar over the appliance it does minimise the amount of dust escaping, probably would not be recommended, but it certainly helps, obviously keep the covering loose in order not to restrict the air flow, hope this may help, all the best,John
