This shows how popular this series really is and yet no British channel has picked it up after a few seasons have been shown on various British channels, yet BBC are reporting the shows popularity. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-20638434

BBC were late comers with the Wire, but ending up showing it in its entirety, an episode every weeknight over a few months, so they could end up doing the same next year with BB, maybe time it to show the last 8 episodes too.
Be grateful you have TG4 (Or Google) :)

Yeh I enjoyed the season 4 opener yesterday even though I have seen it about a zillion times, its just a buzz to see it on Irish telly. Was watching it through Aertv last night as the TG4 player is not allowed to stream it live or afterwards, was getting lag half way through the episode. I wish there was an Aertv app I could download and then stream through my VLC player.

Yeah, and when they did finally show the Wire they stuck it away on BBC 2 at crazy late hours. It ever ceases to amaze me with RTE and the British channels (incl SKY) They'll show any old American rubbish (CSI, Criminal Minds etc) But genuinely top class shows like the Wire and BB they stick away, like they hope no-one will notice them.
