Only if I'm on to a winner I'd make sure the best silks are out. If I'm at home pulling my wire it's not very often.

Rough guess: once every 5 weeks or so.

At least once a month, whether it needs it or not. .

I'm lying in bed now and I couldn't tell you when I last changed my sheets, accurately anyway. It'd be a solid week ago if not, and most likely would be, two weeks ago now, maybe. I started making my bed at the time and then I said fuck this and went to bed.

Half made/half unmade depending on your viewpoint.

I'm an optimistic bastard so few duvets, be grand :pac:

If you live in a cold climate, wear pajamas and the opposite sex find you hideous, then just changing pillow covers daily due to an accumulation of sexually frustrated drooling would be more than sufficient.

So yeah, aslong as you have good airing in your house your fine like!

Once a week usually. Every other day sounds nuts.

Pillowcase: every two days (a day for each side of the pillow).

Rest of the sheets can end up being a lot longer, usually about 2-3 weeks.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,981 ✭✭✭ElleEm

    Every two weeks at most.
It's a horrible job but the reward of sleeping on fresh sheets is just amazing!!

Especially if you're right out of the shower ready for bed. You sleep like a feckin' log

    Every 3-4 weeks.
It would lose it's novelty if I changed them more often.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,981 ✭✭✭ElleEm

My ma is some weirdo... she hates sleeping on fresh bed linen. She can't sleep properly for a few nights til it's "worn in" and she never sleeps well in hotels cos of it!

Why don't you just come out and ask people when's the last time they got laid?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,835 ✭✭✭✭cloud493

Why would you change your bed clothes that often? Sure I only change mine every 3 months or so.

    Usually takes between 8-12 days.

Every 2 weeks. Buying good quality sheet, duvet cover and pillow case covers is the best money you'll ever spend.

Twice weekly. I wouldn't wear the same clothes for a week straight without washing them, and you spend almost as long in your bed.

    Five months is incredible.

I couldn't spend 8 hours in the same clothes let alone lying in the same bedclothes night after night.
There are a lot of people here not getting laid.

As a matter of interest for those of you who change your bed as often as your clothes, how big is your bed and do you change it by yourself or get a boyfriend to help?

I HATE changing my bed, it's a king size and my arms kill me after changing the duvet. Couldn't be dealing with that twice a week!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,031 ✭✭✭tmc86

    every week or so

the biggest pain is trying to dry the newly washed sheets

Yes if I know that I will have time and a place to change. I don't understand your shock.

Obviously it isn't feasible at all times but mostly I will change my clothes at least once a day.

Its a kingsize, and your technique is probably the issue.;)

Lay the cover on the bed, wiggle the top corners of the duvet up into the corners of the cover, give it a good shake from those top corners, to get the cover in place, then do up the poppers. No need to be struggling with it and pulling muscles.

I actually hate changing the pillowslips more than the duvet cover.

I thought I had my technique down! I turn the cover inside out, pinch the duvet within the corners of the cover and shake it out, sometimes over the bannisters.

Putting on the pillow cases alone seems to take me five mins. It is not a fun task!

Right I have just changed my bed and put on a wash. Now tonight I will have a lovely fresh bed to fall into. That feeling of fresh sheets after a warm shower is bliss.

Where do they get the time to do that every 2 days? It takes me at least two hours all told to take sheets off the bed and put on new ones.

BTW that's not including the time it takes to wash and dry the old ones but more the time it takes me fighting with the duvet cover. Is there an easy way to put on them fúckers? I changed one last Saturday in my bedroom and by the time I was finished I was in a different bedroom. Haven't a clue how that happened but I was inside the cover for a period of time so may have travelled while fighting it.

When I was in college, I used to change my bedsheets at Christmas and then again at Summer.

When living with my folks, I'd say about every 3 months or so.

Since I moved out of home, and the frequency of visitors has increased, as has my chances of having visitors, I'd say about every 2 weeks or so. Actually quite disgusted when I think back to my college days!

Well I hope you don't hurt your arms next time.

Try just shaking it while it rests on the bed, so you're not lifting it up, just shaking across.

Agreed on the pillows though, no idea why it takes longer than the cover to do a few little pillows.

The best method is to crawl inside the duvet cover. Then pull the duvet in after you and get it in position - a small torch will be of assistance here.
When you're happy with the duvet postion, simply crawl back out again.

This is the best method in my opinion, I change mine once a month or so. Sometimes more sometimes less it depends. I have bunk beds to change as well so It takes me about an hour to do all three beds. It wouldn't be a task I relish.

Once a month at most but often longer and have gone 2-3 months at times, people are not well in the head changing every week or even more often. Dealing with bed clothes is a painful job, I always bring them home to have them washed too as we have much better drying facilities.

I'm gonna say every ten days on average. Sometimes every week, sometimes every 2nd week. Depends how active I've been
