shocking stuff but not surprising (if the reports of a prior altercation is true). thoughts to the mans family, bus driver etc.

    http://www.rte.ie/news/2012/1206/man-dies-after-incident-in-dublin-city-centre.html
A man has died following an incident on Dawson St in Dublin city centre.
The man reportedly fell onto the street after he was hit during a row and was struck by a bus.
The incident happened at around 5.40pm.
Gardaí from Pearse St have begun an investigation and are seeking witnesses.
The bus driver is reported to be extremely upset.
Nassau Street, Dawson Street and Cuffe St going St Stephens Green are closed to traffic.
Grafton St Lower is also closed. Traffic has been asked to avoid the area

pretty lowsy week for public transport
Dublin Bus wishes to advise customers that due to an accident on Dawson Street it is closed to traffic and all buses are being diverted.

Buses heading southbound are using Townsends St and buses heading northbound are using George's St

Routes 25/a/b and routes 66/a/b and 67 are departing from Aston Quay

Routes 39/a/b and 37 are using Baggot St Fitzwilliam St, Merrion Sq East and Merrion Sq North, Clare St. and back onto normal route at Quays

84x is using Georges St Hatch St, Camden St, Leeson St, and back on to normal route.

145 is via Georges St Kellys Corner Hatch St, Adelaide Rd Leeson St and back onto normal route

Merrion Rd is closed buses diverted via Ailesbury Rd

Sickening event. No bus driver should need to face that just to earn a quid or two.

Even if they lock up the bastards who pushed him out, I'm sure the driver will have it on his mind for the rest of his days.

Considering there was (is?) two buses inside the garda cordon at 11pm, an EV and an AV behind, I'd say the driver of the AV behind saw things he shouldn't have either.

Two drivers...plus anyone sitting at the front upstairs or sitting on the wheel arches downstairs possibly too, or waiting beside the driver to get off on Suffolk St.

An EV, taxi, VT (out of service) and AV. The AV was reversed out earlier in the evening. Also 50+ pedestrians.

I don't wish to make light of what train drivers have to experience but the premium on their salary is often explained by the fact that they may have to experience, and subsequently deal with, such an incident.

If, and we don't know for sure, someone has made a decision to use a bus as a weapon, they should be jailed for natural life. The killing is only one of the many sickening deeds they have perpetrated.
