    Hi Guys,

I was toying with the idea of building a semi-decent media center PC that I can connect to my 50” flat screen (and AV receiver). The idea is to make it as cheap as possible seeing as I have some parts already. One question is with the graphics card i want to re-use, it’s a Radeon Toxic HD 5850 - 1 GB and has a HDMI connection. I presume this will be able to handle audio which will be delivered through the HDMI connection to the TV?

Anyways, answer to the usual Questions answered below

    1. What is your budget? €300 – 350 (might be a stretch)

    2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? HD videos, internet, music and light gaming. Mostly some racing games like need for speed, dirt, F1)

    3. Do you need a copy of Windows? Yes

    4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? Yes, I have a graphics card as above, Hard Disk Drive, DVD drive

    5. Do you need a monitor? No

5b. If no, what resolution is your current monitor and do you plan to upgrade in the near future? Full HD 50” Samsung. [1920x1080]

    6. Do you need any of these peripherals? A wireless keyboard with a touch pad built in would be great as I’ll be sitting on the couch. Nothing fancy!

    7. Are you willing to try overclocking? Yes

    8. How can you pay? Bank Transfer, Credit Card, Laser

    9. When are you purchasing? 1 to 2 months away

    10. If you need help building it, where are you based? No help required, thanks!
