Seeing lots of new road side cameras/sensors go up around the country (example in case the N4 West bound between Maynooth exit and Kilcock exit) there are 2 cameras/sensors on 2 poles within a few feet of each other. Havent heard they are speed cameras and havent heard they're not. Anyone any ideas what they are and what their purpose is? I havent seen any comms on this

I saw them too, and was wondering as well.

I'm assuming they are actually cameras, as distinct from something else (Met office equipment ? )

You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

Nah, if it's what I think the OP is talking about there are a few of them popped up on the Naas Road as well, just a single pole with what looks like two cameras one pointing at each lane of oncoming traffic. The "cameras" are very similar to those three overhead ones on the Naas road (53 16 35N 6 30 02 W) heading out of Dublin, if people know what i'm talking about. :)

Not sure what they are for.

it's an anpr system, for monitoring and calculating traffic flow.
it provides info for electronic signs that give messages giving info such as
    15 minures to xx destination
