    Anywhere between 2000 and 1,000,000 i'd say...

Get your folks to ring their insurance company and ask how much it would cost to add you as a named driver. It'll save us giving you figures we just picked from thin air.

I'm gonna ring some insurance companies next week to get a price for my 17 yr old daughter insured as a named driver on my car (which is a 1.9 diesel but is a performance vehicle according to my insurance company)
Not because I want the insurance, but just so I can use the line.....
" no I just need insurance, I dont want to buy a new daughter" :D

I got insure on a new skoda octavia last year I know it was only 1.6 but same power as 1.9tdi. Considering it was brand new I think it is possible to get insured on anything. I was only 17 too at the time.

Wow sobanek, I'm assuming that price was under my own name and if so that's pretty reasonable, actually feeling fairly confident now that it could even come in under the 2 mark under my parents who both have +10 no claims bonus. Excellent :)
    Thanks by the way:)

I was insured as a named driver for 5 months on my dad's 04 Renault Espace TD. I was 22 and on a provisional. It cost about 700 euro I think.

It will totally depend on the insurance company that your parents currently have a policy with. I presume OP you never had a policy of your own and possibly have a learner permit as opposed to a full license? Some insurance companies impose restrictions such as engine size or bhp for named drivers especially if you don't have a full license or little or no driving experience. This is to prevent young people getting cheaper insurance on what they deem powerful cars through getting a parent to insure it and be added as a named driver.

The only ones who can give an accurate answer is your parents's insurance company.

Yup, that's under your own name, TP F&T.
