What of the city. Try and get some estimates for the working before buying the house.

Also, how long would it take to rewire a house?

This is one of those "how long is a piece of string" questions.
You need to provide some basic information if you want a descent answer.

Provide details on the type of house, size, number of rooms, electrical requirements, who provides the lights, what sort of TV system, alarm system requirements, network cabling, sound system, rlectric gates, intetcom, etc.

    agree with 2011

however i would say 1 week to complete installation including chasing and patching plaster work if you get it done before moving in and no furniture in the house

Dormor bungalow with 4 rooms upstairs, 4 rooms downstairs (garage converted). Total rewire, new MCB board, new light switches and new plug sockets, nothing special for tv, network cabling and that's it.
