I'm an engineer who is currently in employment but thinking about a changing to another engineering field. As a result I will probably need some retraining. I would like to try and get some advice on how best to do this. Does anyone know any good career consultants out there or would I be wasting my time with them?

Try the Career coach on IrishJobs.ie. She offers both career coaching and interview advice. I know people who have been to see her and they said it was a good experience and not so expensive http://irishjobs.ie/CareerDirection/

Try ETC Consult in Dublin. Ask for Pat Shortt. The guy has worked in HR all over the world. Used his services a few times.

Couple of professional career coaches around, look up online. Avoid Fás if at all possible.
