Lads, a friend bought a house that has a oil stove in the living room. I know sfa about them but it obviously needs an electrical connection to start it and this was plugged into a nearby socket. He wants to do it properly and put in a dedicated breaker and wonders what size ? Can't see any info on the stove to state what wattage etc. so was hoping someone can help.

    Thanks

PS. Mods, had this in Plumbing & Heating but think this may be a better fit.

A fused spur unit with a 3 or 5 amp fuse off a socket circuit would probably be fine.

If he still wants it on its own circuit then a 20 amp breaker in the board, 2.5 t&e ran from there into a fused spur unit with a 3 or 5 amp fuse and then onto the boiler/through a timer to the bolier with some 2.5 heat resistant flex.
