What's the story with the bus stops on the Meadowbrook road and the road running parallel to Straffan wood estate ?

Has there ever been a Dublin bus route that went that way ? Or are they part of some grand Celtic tiger plan that never materialised ?

I often walk by them and they've sparked my curiosity ! I do remember vaugely as a child them being put in place but nothing more than that , as I was too young at the time ! :(

So yeah anyone know what's their purpose , other than random yellow poles on the street ?! :P

they were meant to extend the 66 so it did a loop I think never happened though. same they were meant to make the 67 terminate on moyglare road, hasn't happened either.

some buses used to go from Straffan Wood very early in the morning a few years ago, and travel up the Meadowbrook Road and up through the town. don't know if they still do, or what the point of starting there was instead of just the same 66/67 routes that are usually used. presume it was to save people in the general Castledawson/Newtown/Beaufield/Meadowbrook area the walk all the way up in the mornings....
