Help with marriage registration

    Hello,

    I just have a quick question, hope you can help me out :D I am an interpreter, work with Portuguese and English usually in hospitals but I got an assignment for a marriage registration. It's the first time I am going to do it and I don't have a clue about how a marriage is in Ireland. I was looking for videos on YouTube unsuccessfully. Any help with vocabulary or what they say basically or even with what to wear is more than welcome.

    If you approach the registrar they will give you a sample of the ceremony wording, couples can get this as well. 99% of what they say is the same for all ceremonies, but some couples can add in more, readings, songs, reflection etc. Ceremonies are open to the public so you are more than welcome to view one as an example.
    The registrar would usually ware a suit/pants suit and seen you are there in an "official" capacity you should probably dress likewise.

    Who has hired your service for the ceremony, the couple themselves or the registrar?

    Thank you! I will try to get a word of wedding. One of the agencies that I work ask us to bring it in both languages. I believe they provide it themselves before I go, but as I said, I've never had such assignment.

    Who is hiring me is one of the translation/ interpreting agencies I work for.
