How many calories in potatoes?

    I keep trying to find an answer to this online, but they all vary so much.
    Anyone know how many calories are in potatoes?
    i keep trying to find answer online but get so many different numbers.
    i understand there fairly ok just dont add butter etc :P
    just want to weigh them up versus rice etc

    Uncooked: 75-79 kcals per 100g. Sweet potatoes are more, something like 90 kcals per 100g.

    Potato is 70 cals per 100g raw weight.

    You'll often notice cooked values are higher, this is because some water has evaporated. Using raw weight is best.

    I've never anywhere seen the cal content quoted as this low. Though the 75-79kcal/100g I said is negligably higher so it doesn't really matter. But if cal content is of concern to you, OP, I'd go with the higher value.

    Tesco are good for nutritional values, they have it on loads of veg and even alcohol.

    Tesco floury are 79kcal/100g, ones called Exquisa Potatoes are 75kcal, roosters 79kcal
