When I ring up insurance companies to get a quote one question they always ask is my occupation. Just wondering about this.

    Which occupations attract a loading?
If you are unemployed or retired do they add a loading?

High risk occupations are the ones where people are constantly on the road and/or do a lot of driving at odd hours so virtually everyone in showbusiness, jockeys, on-course bookies, salespeople, vets, doctors, taxi drivers and the like are heavily loaded.

Not sure how they treat retired and unemployed.
