They look ridiculous just like those stupid nurburgring stickers on diesel a4s with rs badges and a sh!te body kit. Twats. Although yesterday I saw a lovely 08 GTI with what i thought was a nurburgring sticker but when i looked closer it actually said "neverbeen" I thought it was brilliant.

It's all reliant on opinion. :)

Why do I have to be German? Does that effect how they look?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,363 ✭✭✭✭bazz26

Depends on the car, a 12 year old battered Focus.... Not a good look, A nice clean E36 BMW they look good.

Once spaced correctly and without the stupid stickers!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,330 ✭✭✭readytosnap

    thought they were illegal here?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 54 ✭✭M44B19

    thought they were illegal here?

AFAIK, Once spaced correctly and have the county etc... there legal. (NCT manual says nothing about font only dimensions)

I must of been getting them confused with the black plates that the guards made me remove from my fiesta about 16 years ago, or else face a 1000 pound fine

Any one in a German car with German plates in Ireland should be obliged to dress like this

    barvarian_yodeler_lederhosen.JPG

They must also voluntarily eat sourkraut and bratwurst.

    That'll sort 'em.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,102 ✭✭✭DylanII

I like them, but only on a really nice car.

Have them on a LC raggin a few mates.....slagging over and they look absolutely ridiculously stupid.

Back to real world.....I think this budget is the last straw for a lot of us.

Imagine late 40s going back to motor biking, something I did as a student ....that's how fughed a lot of us are so the mrs can bring the kids to school.

    Oasis, Coke, McDonalds

    FACT!

I actually think they look ok only some lads have the small badges for the german car tax which looks ridiculous imho.

Going forward a set of pressed metal plates looks great on any marque, those plastic plates the factors make up are horrible.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,594 ✭✭✭tossy

German plates were cool when no one had them - kind of like Air max but when, but then everyone started using them and the became uncool and played out - Skobies ruin everything :D

This thread is now about brit rock, carbonated soft drinks and fast food, no more silly regarding plate talk.

Oasis, diet coke, McDonald's is the correct answer.

Eh, it's Oasis for the first two albums, Blur thereafter. Coke always (never that horrible p.ss Diet Coke, by the way). And BK, altho the occasional McDs is permitted.
