I have to go up and see someone in the Eye & Ear Hospital in Adelaide Street Can anyone help me out with some directions Please
I've never been there before and am not familiar with the area.
I'll be coming into Dublin from the N2 Castleblayney, Monaghan
Can anyone advise on which would be the quickest way to go and when in Dublin should i take the train to Adelaide St?
Or would driving to the Eye & Ear Hospital be a better option? Is there parking at the hospital?
    Any advice would be great.

You have the address wrong, it's Adelaide Road and there is pay and display parking so you should be able to park not far from the hospital.

There is no surface or multistorey car park nearby so if you're driving, you will have to park on the street and pay at the meter, hence make sure that you have plenty of money - it's about 2.90 per hour in the city centre and you will get clamped if you run over.

The Eye and Ear Hospital isn't convenient for the Dart or Luas coming from the northside so unless you abandon the car over on the northside and get a bus, you might as well drive there.

Adelaide Road runs from Lower Leeson St. right by the canal bridge, down to the southern end of Harcourt St. The hospital is not far from the Leeson St. end of Adelaide Road.

Here's a map showing Adelaide Road, the hospital isn't marked for some reason but it's close to the eastern (righthand) end of the street so park either in Earlsfort Tce. or the Leeson St. end of Adelaide Road and you can walk to the Eye and Ear. It's a very prominent large redbrick Victorian building, you can't miss it.

It's actually on Adelaide Road, man, in case you get flustered looking for an Adelaide Street :)

There isn't any parking in the hospital itself and expensive on street parking around it so if you can avoid it, don't drive to it. The closest off Street Parking will be St. Stephens Green Shopping Centre; it's about 15 minutes walk away. If you are coming from the N 2, consider leaving your car in Tesco Clearwater or Charlestown Dunnes in Finglas and get the 140 over to Earlsfort Terrace or Harcourt Road. If you get a bus to Busaras, get the 14 bus from Amien Street beside Connolly Luas stop to Earlsford Terrace (No train nearby).

Either option is about as close and direct as you will get on a city bus route.

Bus Éireann route 177 operates from Hanratty's Castleblaney to Leeson Street Dublin, around the corner from the hospital - a 5 minute walk. Ask the driver to let you out on Leeson Street at Adelaide Road. Route 177 terminates at Wilton Terrace, next to Leeson Street Bridge, however, only a few services start there and these are likely to be busy. http://www.buseireann.ie/pdf/1350905041-177.pdf

McConnons Buses operate a service from Hanratty's Castleblaney to Earlsfort Terrace Dublin - a 9 minute walk. http://www.mcconnonsbuses.com/content/timetable_sept2012.pdf

If you use Bus Éireann route 32, it only gets you to Busáras, in which case get any route 14 or 15 bus from Connolly Luas stop (across the road from Busáras) to Earlsfort Terrace. Alternatively a 5-10 minute taxi ride - taxis are available directly outside Busáras.

Returning from Dublin, consider the few route 177 services that start at Wilton Terrace or get a route 14 or 15 bus from Earlsfort Terrace to Busáras.

Parking is something like €2.80/hour on the street.

I can see the Burlington Hotel listed as a destination on the Bus Eireann website, that's less than 10 minutes on foot from the Eye & Ear. If you plan on taking a bus that drops you off there, walk back the way the bus came from the city centre, go back over Leeson St. bridge, take the first left into Adelaide Road and the Eye & Ear is 100m down that road on the right.

As I said, ask the driver to let you out on Leeson Street at Adelaide Road, it is the stop before the terminus at Wilton Terrace. This is it: http://maps.google.ie/maps?q=Leeson+Street+Lower,+Dublin&hl=en&ll=53.333271,-6.25401&spn=0.000826,0.002642&sll=53.3834,-8.21775&sspn=6.713251,21.643066&oq=leeson+&hnear=Leeson+Street+Lower,+Dublin,+County+Dublin+City&t=m&z=19&layer=c&cbll=53.33336,-6.254113&panoid=RANJbKHpq49MW7P0wuhKsQ&cbp=12,25.68,,0,6.26

Best to go to Wilton Terrace as you get on the bus first. The Catleblaney-bound stop on Leeson Street is nearly at St. Stephen's Green.
