Hi All, I am at blocks stage of a new build and I have a load bearing steel column which sits on the raft. Has anyone used the insulated pads that the steel sits on to thermally insulate the steel from the sub floor? If so were they effective or are they overkill?
    Thanks for any replies.

Column or Beam thermal isolators can be done bespoke with Neoprene or proprietary with armadillo.

Worth doing where the steel is internal or crosses the thermal envelope. You need your structural engineer to approve though. PM me for photo's of installations.
