aeroboard as filling?

I have what I would consider an odd 1 for ye construction people.

I am currently redesigning a shed for dairy cows, its an existing shed that I need to change around. It has concrete slats in it that I want to put cubicle bed over, cubicle beds are 7-8foot in depth(wall to edge) and about 8 inches in height, the slats underneath are 13 foot wide span.

So i hope I have explained that well enough. Here is my question, I want to raise up these cubicle beds over the slats so I have 2 ideas of doing this already and any other ideas would be welcome, 1 is fill with aeroboard to 6inch and 2 inch of concrete screed on top or option 2 is fill with gravel over polythene(to stop gravel falling into tank underneath) to 6inch and again 2 inch of concrete screed.

Im looking at keeping costs low so any other ways of cheap filling to around the 6 inch mark?

    thanks

Polythene on the slats, blind with sand, hardcore on top and concrete finish.
If you are bedding the bars into the finished screed, you will need more than 2" as you know the cows will lean and scratch against the bars.

no the bars are wall mounted so I think 2 should be fine.

I think the depth of concrete is to small, but other than that you seem to have answered your own questions.

Are you planning on 'rubber matting' the beds?
If so you could always check out the cost used gang slats or seconds if they are available and put 2 together as the bed with the mats on top.
