Winter Bug

Woke up this morning about 10.30 am and my stomach felt like it was doing cartwheels, with stomach cramps and the whole lot.

Haven't vomited yet but I tell ye the other end is making up for it, just like brown water coming out.

Worst thing is I'm missing a nine and a half hour shift in work today, and on the Sunday rate I'm raging.

Seems to have calmed down a good bit now but I'm still feeling wishy-washy and the other end is still acting up, although it isn't occurring in so many intervals.

Anyway it's been a good while since I got the bug and I forgot how horrible it was, have any of ye ever had it? How long does it last? About 24 hours I was told. What do ye suggest eating/drinking?

The Winter Vomiting bug Noro virus is 48hrs and non stop out of both ends. You won't be able to move with it and feel like someone kicked the crap out of you all over. If not you don't have it.

Basically you have to bring a bucket to the jacks with you as it flies from both ends like a fire hose. Been there.

So I just have a bad dose of the runs/sickly stomach then? I do feel a lot better than I did this morning.

Yeah I haven't ate anything all day. I might go for some toast and sip water later though, what about 7up, I hear that heals all ailments?

Just have a couple of crisp sambos and you'll be brand new.

In cases like these it's handy to have a small bathroom where you have the bath or sink right beside the toilet.

It comes out both ends violently at times.

I had to burn down my house to get rid of the stink one year after a particularly nasty weekend of it.

Never understood why people eat painkillers like they are tic tacs for any and every minor thing. Yet will spend a full day on the jacks shítting themselves to bits rather than take a couple immodium.

I suffer from colitis - basically a very bad form of IBS - so I know how rotten things must be for you OP. Sounds more like a bug though than the MRSA or Winter Vomiting Virus.

Were you out at a restaurant on Friday evening? Bugs are often picked up from places that have dodgy hygiene standards - and that can apply just as much to a swanky eatery as much to a greasy spoon chipper.

I've come down with a rotten head cold this weekend - and that combined with being really hurt on Friday by someone from my past means that I've spent most of this weekend in the leaba feeling low and miserable.

You need a few strong drinks.
