    Link

The price is too good to be true. Cheaper than Hong Kong & Taiwan
The only "small print" that I see in the auction is that it's going to be in a white box instead of normal one, but the rest seems to be OK...

    Any advice?

I might be wrong but the seller has 100% feed back, it's in the uk and he's giving a years warranty which isnt canon warranty but if he's going to stand over it it should be fine,
It's a kit Lens from a kit where for whatever reason the buyer hasn't taken the lens,
If I had the money I deffo be interested in one. They're a super lens by all accounts

I'm buying a lot, it's generally safe, but read small print in the auction.

This is what i want as my next lens but im afraid to take the plunge for my crop sensor 550d and if F4 will be ok.

Just to give you an idea price wise, its

    €849 after cashback from Birminghams

€700 plus postage from your link on eBay

    €760 delivered from Simply Electronics

I contacted the seller and he said the lens and camera are imports. Any idea what this means

Sounds like they're buying them in lots cheaply from a different country, instead of getting them in like a normal shop would. Standard practice for ebay sellers I would say.

So not a good deal then? Seller says warrantee only operates in uk so anything wrong i have to send back to him

Sounds like a good deal. Looks legit, the seller has 100% feedback and has sold over 30 of them. If you're on the market for this lens this seems to be the cheapest option too

I am looking at the 5d camera too. In total
Is close to 900 euro cheaper tjan in dublin. Is an import the same as a uk/irish model

Camera wise, yes, exact same. Only difference is the warranty which the seller spoke to you about.

from my own ltd knowledge, could be gray/white imports? There's a couple of similar examples on amazon.com

    gray import = $877

    white box = $939

the current amazon price for this lens is $1019

With over 5000 ebay sales and not one bad feedback i would be very confident with that seller.

That feedback score is very impressive.

If you have any issues such as the lens not arriving of arriving broken then you will be covered under the buyer protection of ebay and would have your money refunded.
