    I HAVE RESIGNED MY (PUBLIC SECTOR)JOB TO GO ABROAD A MONTH AGO MY EMPLOYER'S HR GAVE ME A LETTER STATING MY DATE OF COMMENCEMENT AND DATE OF COMPLETION OF MY SERVICE WITH THEM. BUT A HR PERSON IS PREVENTING THE FINANCE OFFICE IN ISSUING MY P45. WE WERE NOT IN GOOD TERMS (THAT PURTICULAR WOMEN) WHEN I STRONGLY OBJECTING HER STOPPING MY SALARY WHEN I WAS SICK WITHOUT ANY NOTICE STATING THE LEAGAL POINTS THAT SHE IS WORING AGAINST LAW. NOW ANY ONE PLEASE TELL ME HOW IMPORTANT THE P45 TO ME NOW. OR CAN I CONTACT REVENUE WITH THE LETTER FROM THE HR AS MENTIONED ABOVE. I NOT GOING TO START WORKING TILL OCT 2014. I AM NOT GOING TO CLAIM ANY SOCIAL WELFARE BENIFITS AS I AM NOT GOING TO LIVE IN THE STATE FOR A PERIOD OF 2 YEARS. AS I HAVE FLY IN 1 WEEK I REQUEST ANY ONE KNOW A CORRECT SOLUTION TO MY ISSUE. THANKS

    P45s are really only useful during the year they are issued in.

    An employer wouldn't need it when 2013 starts as it relates to the previous tax year. In your situation, it sounds like you don't need one at all.

    Can someone help me?

    I got my P45 last week, I have parts 2,3,4...what do I do with it? Do I have to send it off or bring it to the revenue office?

    You don't do anything with it unless you are looking for tax back from your last employment, claiming jobseekers or starting a new job. Just let is know what you want to do.

    Thanks! Can l clam tax back if l was already taken off emergency tax? lm in college atm not working but il be working again in march (hotel closed for a few months), not claiming any social welfare cause lm not entitled to it.

    If the P45 shows PAYE deducted on it you may be entitled to a refund of some of it based on your unused credits and rate band for 2013. You may also be entitled to a refund of USC deducted. At this stage of the year, I would wait until January and do a review for 2013 online. That will pick up if any refund is due.
