    Hi,
I am looking for a laptop or tablet for a man who is not used to computers. The requirements would be to have a built in web cam, good skype capabilities and internet access. He will be travelling quite a bit so something that will also play DVDs and tv shows. Budget of 300-400euros.
What can ye boardsies recommend? I know there are a lot of recommendations on here already but I think these specifications are a little bit different. But apologies if this is going to bore you :(

If he'll have Internet access for it, why not get a tablet and use Netflix instead of DVDs? The Nexus 7 will do all you ask for.

There's one suggestion for ya. €359.99. Shop around for the best deal on it obviously, betweeen argos, amazon, tesco, etc.

You asked about playing DVDs. Being a tablet, it does not have a DVD drive, obviously. It will play movie files though, and you can check compatible formats.

Also, I think Samsung are offering a €50 cashback deal. See here.

You could also consider the Kindle Fire HD, Google Nexus 7 (or 10), and iPad/iPad Mini.

If the man is travelling around, before taking a tablet on the road he'll need to know what the WiFi facilities are like in his destinations. Personlly I'd go for a lap-top net-book with an optical drive that can play BlueRays or DVDs which can be rented more easily than fast WiFi broadband availability.

Thanks everyone. I think maybe a small laptop would be best as he may get more use out of it. Any recommendations for one?
