Im thinking about buying a second hand iphone 4s 32/64gb on donedeal soon, just wondering what things I should look out for?
Im on Vodafone Ready to Go. Should I take out my Sim card and put it into the phone to see if it works etc..

Would you buy a second hand car without turning the key ?

Yes, put your card in and make sure it's working.
Also ask for an original receipt, phone could be stolen.

If you're really paranoid, bring a laptop with itunes and plug phone into. A fake phone would not be recognised by itunes.

How to check it's really a 32/64gb: touch settings, select general, select about, look at capacity.

Check to see the homebutton is responsive. It should work first press and not require and second attempts to get it working.

If it's sticky it could be a future repair bill.

If the seller is selling phone as unlocked make sure it's an official unlock and not jailbroken. If it's jailbroken you won't be able to update the iOS as the locks will come back on the phone when you update (check if the app Cydia is installed, if it is the phone is jailbroken). If the seller will give you the IMEI check it here: http://www.imei.info/ (free)
Personally I wouldn't buy a 2nd hand phone if it doesn't come with the receipt and/or the original box.

Donedeal is hit and miss tbh
I would only ever buy and sell my phones in www.adverts.ie
