I'm fitting a stove on the weekend and just wondering about one part of the flue connections there was an insert stove fitted years ago and then a gas fire which iv taken out.

I was wondering can anyone who has experience fitting stoves can advise me should i use a 8''-5'' clay-flue pipe connecter or use a register plate were the hole is in the photo

    Thank you

Is that the remains of the gas fire or the insert????
Its not a standard flue gather....it needs to be removed too
