Bass on tap

Does anyone know of any pubs in Dublin that serve Bass on tap?

People always mention Fagans but I've never actually confirmed if this is still the case.

O'Neills used to have it but despite it appearing on their price boards, the tap was no longer there and the barman said they didn't have it.

I've seen signs around the place but most places don't actually seem to have it.

I can confirm Fagan's have it, I regularly drink it in there. Last time was late October.

Solas was another place that always used to have it, but I've not been in in ages.

I've found it indistinguishable from Smithwick's in a blind taste.

I was in Solas a couple of weeks ago and, while it was pretty crowded, I didn't see a Bass tap there. I certainly would have bought one if I'd seen it there.

The Bass you get in cans is certainly not a great beer but I drink it out of nostalgia - I used to drink it in college as I was never a fan of 'premium' lagers.

The bottled stuff you get in Belgium is a completely different beast though. I believe you told me that it is made in a different factory, BeerNut - possibly still in Burton.

I've only had it on draught a couple of times but I'd be willing to agree that Rebel Red and O'Haras are probably better options.

I think the Belgian one, and the English keg version, come from the A-B InBev factory in Salmesbury. It's cask Bass that's brewed in Burton, by Marston's. The one sold here comes from the Tennent's brewery in Glasgow.

I'm pretty sure the Yacht in Clontarf has it on tap, same owners as fagans.

Got one in Fagans this afternoon. I hadn't had it in a while so I enjoyed the novelty but the Belgian version is so much better. At €4.70 a pint, I think my money would go a lot further in WJ Kavanaghs down the road.

Duffy's in Malahide have it and yes you will see Bertie in there from time to time.
