Ah the Olympics.... how did i forget that? Yeah, I'm shocked at how blank my mind goes when I try to remember the big events of the year. I put it down to having a new baby and not having a moment to myself. Scary

I'm struggling to think of anything else significant so far as well. Neil Armstrong died, that was newsworthy I suppose.

And Lance Armstrong's career and reputation died.

Ireland got an excellent result against Spain in The Euros. Equal to the beaten finalists, in fact.

In Rugby, Ireland disastrously scored 7 tries against Argentina. Kidney was heard to mutter to himself, "WTF are they doing?" Earlier in the year they heroically held the All Blacks to 60 pts.

Obama re-elected. Hurricane Sandy fcuked up the Carribean and the east coast of the US. Oh and the Costa Concordia disaster. That was bad.
