Laptop HDMI to surrond sound

    Hi guys. I have a laptop with 1 hdmi slot and a vga slot.
    I am using Netflix but I want to connect it to my tv surround sound
    Any idea how I can do this?
    All im doin now is the hdmi laptop to tv hdmi

    aldi have hdmi cables. probably 1/2 the price of other shops.
    in theory you should be able to send hd audio and video via hdmi.
    the model and the os will be a big factor in your success

    the sound works fine on the tv but how do I make it come out of the surround sound?

    use a phone to line cable connected to the headphone jack on the laptop

    its a cable with the red and white connectors on one end and 3.5mm jack on the other end, red and white connectors go into your surround sound system or tv and jack lead goes into headphone socket of laptop

    That will only give you stereo, not surround sound.

    What are you using for surround sound? A separate amp and speakers? or surround speakers connected directly to your tv(depends on model)
