Cheers Chris, much handier to see everything like that rather than having a bunch of dates-we can see the double and triple headers this way!

Anyone heading over for a race next year? I was over at Daytona this year and couldn't recommend it highly enough. Really great week. Id be half tempted to do the double header of Texas NASCAR and Austin MotoGP in April. That would be a great couple of weeks!

Danica Patrick is on Pole for the Daytona 500 - Nascars viewing figures will go through the roof....... Jeff Gordon was second, all 3 Srewart Haas racing cars were in the top 6 - though only 1st and 2nd are set in stone for the 500 next weekend.

btw Milka Duno(also Ex Indycar) is 2nd on the grid for the ARCA race at Daytona.....

I see Kyle Busch and his ex team mate Joey Logan set the same time 45.973s  :D

Anyone going to take a shot at who will be crowned Sprint Cup champion this year? I'd like to see Hamlin win.

Real mess of cars coming over the line, wonder does having it happen in the final stretch before the finish line make it worse with drivers keeping their foot in, I guess it could happen any time. Maybe lucky for the driver the car went in to the fence the angle it did.

    good few photos here

Sky headline "28 fans and one driver injured in last lap crash... "

Michael Annett was the only driver injured and that was in the turn 2 big one earlier in the race. (He's OK)

Latest news is the two critical patients were upgraded. Really hope no one was really badly hurt.

Nascar update is 28 injured - 14 treated at the circuit and 14 taken to hospital, the 2 critically injured are now stable.

The front of Kyle Larsons car penetrated the catch fencing with one of the tyres going into the spectator area and many spectators been sprayed with Carbon Fibre.
The 500 will go ahead - the catch fencing was repaired by 2am.

Not to sure what caused Regan Smith to lose control whilst leading - it did not look like he got a bumper rub.
Hopefully all make a full recovery - last lap crashes at Super Speedways seems to be the norm in Nascar....

Michael Annett (No.43) did not have a crash earlier in the race - he was running in 4th with 10 laps to go.There was a crash with Ausin Dillon with 5 laps to go that took Annett out - heavy frontal impact - 11 cars in total involved and the race was red flagged

The big one happened with 5 to go and Annett went head on in the turn 2 wall and was transported to hospital.

EDIT: Sky's headline implies the injured driver (Annett) was involved in the last lap crash

Sky have confused the two crashes - the first crash with 5 laps to go was Annett and Dillon colliding leading to a 20 minute red flag, the last lap crash was were Kyle Larsons car pierced the catch fencing.
Looking at it again it looks like Brads car did clip Regan Smiths car which led to the accident.
There are no reports of an injured driver on the mainstream motor sports channels.

It was Sky News. Facts arent an issue I suppose :pac:

Regan said he tried to block Kes. coming to the line (as you would) and it turned him. No one's fault, product of the type of plate racing.

60% chance of rain for today, but the track is repaired and ready to go.

Keep and eye out for besweeet on JTV. He seems to have restarted his streaming business. Already gone through two channels tonight though, so probably not good if you want it left full-screen on a second monitor.

Not a great finish to the race - lame last 20 laps - delighted for Mark Martin hoped he would finally get that win and Jnrs third second in 4 years

Two years in a row Greg Biffle is in position to win the 500 and fails to even try.

(And twice gets passed by Jr coming to the line :D )

Just watching a bit of the Daytona Sprint practice there. - what determines the starting order? Is there a qualy for fastest lap or is it determined some other way?

    Daytona qualifying is different:

    - Top 2 in speed qualifying are locked into the front row.

Then the field is split into two qualifying races, the Duels. Odd-numbered in Race 1, even-numbered in Race 2. Starting in order of speed qualifying.

    - The next 30 positions (3-32) are filled with the top 15 from each Duel race, excluding the front row. Race 1 in the odd-numbered positions, Race 2 in the even-numbered positions.
    - The next 4 positions (33-36) are filled with the fastest 4 drivers according to speed qualifying who are not yet in the field.
    - The next 6 positions (37-42) are filled according to the owner's points from last year of the drivers not yet in the field. These drivers are ranked by owner's points, and not speed.
    - The final position (43) is a provisional spot which can be taken by a past champion not already in the field. Each champion gets 6 provisionals per year. If more than one past champion wants to use the provisional, the most recent champion gets the spot. If there is no-one using the provisional, the spot goes to the next car in owner's points not yet in the field.

Yep, feeling a little nauseous watching them go round a half-mile circuit. It's mad the way the cars are so prone to punctures with the tight turns and once it happens you're in the wall collecting whoever is near you.

Vickers wrecked with 6 laps to go while Montoya was leading with victory in sight.

Montoya along with half the field then pitted for tyres for a green/white chequere finish - Harvick who was second at the time of the wreck went on to win.....

Stewart and Kurt Busch had a bit of a difference at the end of the race ! after Busch hit the back of Stewart pushing him out of the racing groove leaving him down in 18th
