You can watch from the bay, but the answer's no.

If you've had trouble with the emissions, (which will be tested anyway) why don't you get a mechanic to look over it before you take it in? That's common sense, TBH.

they never took the keys off me when i went into to office so i just went back out to car and started it up and kept her running until some guy came over and took it into be tested.

The OP is asking if he can sit in the car before the car is brought in for testing.

Just make sure you take it on a good long spin before hand - it won't cool down that quickly, any time i've been tested i was in and out in half an hour. I also always throw in a bottle of fuel cleaner additive the week before, not sure if it does much but it's cheap enough so might as well. It won't hurt anyway.

You can also just ask them to rev the ****e out of it before they test it.

Sure stick some dipetane in the tank and drive it like you stole it on the way to the NCT. Nice clear emissions ;)

Beginning of this month I waited for 45 minutes after I booked in for the test to commence. (And yes I was on time!). Car passed emissions test, test temp recorded 55 degress.

    Petrol or diesel ???
If diesel, then letting it idle for any length of time will push the emissions (smoke test) way up.

If you're anyway near a motorway a good spin on it flat out the morning of the test should be enough to clear it out. My dads car is lethal for emissions but flies through the test every year after it's trip up the motorway

Yes, any time I was tested you paid you money and then went back out to your car untill it was your turn.

When is the money (including lost growth) Michael Noonan took in the Pension Levy going to be paid back?
