MV poster climbs every mountain in Ireland!

    The title may not be completely accurate, because of course there are differing views as to what comprises a mountain, height, prominence etc.

    However there is one list called the "Arderins", Mountainviews.ie lists 404 of them with a height in excess of 500m and a prominence in excess of 30m here...

    And that site has a member who has just completed an ascent of each and every one. As the site itself notes, this is no ordinary challenge, apart from the number they are located all over the country, they are often in the middle of ranges so even bagging one may require a very long trek, and some of them are a long way off the beaten track. It takes years and a huge amount of mileage both in the car to get to every part of the country, and most significantly in the legs.

    So congrats to madfrankie on his special achievement. It may have been done before of course, not sure if someone like Paddy Dillon may have taken them all in in his time, but since 2002 its the first person on that site to do so. Current MV top summiteer Adrian Hendroff is closing in on completing the list too, he's on 396, so watch this space for another joining the very elite group soon...
