Sorry if its a bit harsh, but if you don't have the answers to those questions yourself, then should you really be applying for it!?

You need to ask yourself where do you want to be in eight to ten years time. Do you want to be a professional golfer on the LET or LPGA tours. If the answer is a definite yes, then question one is setting out the steps you need to achieve to get there. Q2 and Q3 are a logical progression.

If the answer is no or you aren't sure you need to figure out what you want to do and choose your career options accordingly.

If you are applying for the scholarship you must be a pretty good amateur but that doesn't mean its the career for you. Good luck with your choices, I hope you make the right decision for you.

    Kate,
Don't mind the rest of them, they are being harsh, it can be very difficult to know what a college (or employer) is asking for in an application form, particularly if you've never had to do it before and it can be daunting. I assume you're looking for guidance on what's appropriate to write down on the form. Often the best thing is to get in contact with the college directly and try to speak to someone. Most people are actually pretty helpful.

Presumably if you're thinking about a scolarship then your already a serious golfer and the application is for entry for 2013?
These are just my opinions (for whatever they're worth) based on the questions you listed:
    Q1:
Short term: What's your handicap ambition for 2013? What provincial/national comps do you expect to compete in? Are you in the running for any development squads/ provincial/national?
Long term: Ultimate handicap ambitions? senior provincial/national squad? teaching pro? touring pro?

Q2 perhaps gives you an opportunity to show how you understand what sort of facilities/services (coaching/ mentoring etc) are available to you as part of this scolarship. Also, have you shown significant improvement in a short space of time? This would be a chance for you to emphasise your potential and the scope you have for improvement in the correct program/environment.

Q3 is where you can talk about yourself, what you've achieved to date, why you'll be in a position to improve and why you'd be a good representative for the college. Again as I mentioned already, if you've previously had a period of quick improvement, you can use this to highlight the potential you have, given the right set of circumstances. You can also talk about the amount of work you've put in to date in order to get to the level you're at. Again if there are other things which you've achieved outside of golf which show you are dedicated and hardworking, these might be included here too.

Good luck with it, and I'd say don't worry about the idea that you shouldn't apply for a scolarship unless you are sure you'll want to follow this sport as a career. Look on it as an opportunity to develop your game, and play lots of golf, while continuing your education. There's too many people who think you have to decide what you're going to do for the next 40 years when you're only 18/19/20
