    Wigan-Manchester-City-Football-Special-Live-P_2867233.jpg

    Manchester City:

Hart, Zaba, Maicon, Kompany, Nastasic, Silva, Yaya, Barry, Garcia, Aguero, Balotelli

Subs: Pantillimon, Kolarov, Kolo, Milner, Sinclair, Dzeko, Tevez

    Wigan:

Al Habsi, Boyce, Stam, Lopez, Figueroa, McCarthy, Jones, Gomez, Beausejour, Kone, Di Santo

Subs: Pollitt, Golobart, McArthur, Fyvie, Redmond, McManaman, Boselli

Mario starts! Balotelli, Maicon & Garcia come in for Dzeko, Milner & Kolarov. Tevez benched again.

Wigan have a number of big players missing, such as Maloney, Caldwell and Ramis. Di Santo seems a fitting replacement to me though beside Kone, that's a dangerous pair. Jordi Gomez is in pretty serious form too.

Honestly, this could be a tough trip for City, not expecting a Villa-style romp. Again, I'm wary of Maicon as a liability. 2-1 City I hope.

0 - 2 win for city. Kompany and Aguero with the goals

Martin Tyler and Mother Teresa are the commentators tonight.

Maicon always going flying up the wing. Even though we've 4 defenders on, this could be a 3 at the back night.

    Wigan have started brightly.

Poor oul Tevez. 2 goals and 2 assists against Villa and then dropped for the next 2.

Pretty crap game so far, some of our passing has been awful.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,526 ✭✭✭✭Darkglasses

Could go either way so far, City just not connected right now.

Well I miss De Jong too, but I was really impressed with him before he got injured. Nobody's playing well tonight though.

Think Carlitos better come on for the second half, this isn't Balo's night.

Yaya, Balotelli and Silva have all been terrible so far.

If we every have a defensive crisis just stick Aguero back there :pac:

Quite a few commentators said that City paid far too much for him. Andy Brassell seemed to rate him quite highly though.

De Jong is far more effective imo.

No changes, 45 minutes to go and win this game!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,526 ✭✭✭✭Darkglasses

Oh jay, great chance for Kone there. Thought it was in.

Milner's coming on, he'll be another option out wide.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,951 ✭✭✭✭CSF

Milner on before Tevez? Mancini is nuts sometimes. Balotelli should never have started.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,919 ✭✭✭✭Xavi6

Milner is the first sub, riiiight.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,526 ✭✭✭✭Darkglasses

Javi off for Milner. Another option in midfield I guess, where we have been particularly bad tonight.

Mancini is officially bonkers. Balotelli rarely adds anything. Aguero off for Kolarov? Jesus.

    Kolarov for Aguero

Nothing like a goal to take the heat off a head scratcher of a substitution.

Three at back caused this :p

Wigan's heads have dropped, should be another 1 or 2 in this game.

Even if there is, the lads shouldn't go patting their backs over this one. For 20 minutes it looked like it should go the other way!

Poor Milner picking up an injury, by the looks of his face he knows it's bad enough.

The goal looks better every time.

Didn't see the game but Wigan away is never easy. Just ask the neighbours ;)

Looking at ye're fixtures there's no reason ye shouldn't be unbeaten going into the New Year. Obviously United isn't easy but ye're more than capable of winning that never mind drawing. Ye don't do losing at home and away fixtures are Newcastle, Norwich, Sunderland- all incredibly winnable!

We have Everton at home on Saturday, all City fans hate that fixture :o

Well I agree Wigan away isn't easy, they've a number of great players and a great manager too. But a good few of our players should be disappointed with how they played for the first hour, didn't pass well or show their physical edge.

Don't think we'll beat United, would be delirious if we drew.

    2-0 Full time.

Wigan look more than strong enough to stay up again this season. Can consider themselves unlucky not to have taken a point.

    Really?

I'd be amazed if they beat ye. They're playing poor stuff at times. Losing to Norwich, scraping over the line v West Ham. Ye've been solid and done what's asked of ye really in the league. I think both teams will step it up for the game but I think ye'll have too much if I'm honest

Good away win and a fantastic goal by Milner. Maicon was poor I thought, can he actually defend? Garcia had a shocker, again! Yaya not at his best either.

For Wigan I thought McCarthy looked class and not out of his depth at all.

We've played like that for most of the season though. It hasn't set the world alight but we're still unbeaten.
Don't think we'll beat United, would be delirious if we drew.

Why? They're not playing well. I wouldn't be surprised if we drew but never delirious. I don't think I've ever been delirious about a draw with United.

Seriously lacking going forward tonight. At times it was just Silva and one other when we had loads of space. Another clean sheet though and three points.

I hope Mancini keeps subbing Aguero for Kolarov, just to troll Sky Sports.
