I have the newest version and wanted to ask people a few things on it.

First thinking of adding a few videos to youtube and wanted to know what is the best format to upload with and have the best compression.
I tried a fifteen minute clip but when compressed I got around 750 mb. Far too big to youload.

    Formats are WMV
    Flash Video
    MPEG-1
    MPEG-2
    MP4
    AVC
    AVC AMD app AcceleratioN
    AVCH/Blue Ray

As far as I know youtube converts the video to it's own format when you upload the video. I think the upper limit on youtube uploads is 2gb so you'll be fine uploading just about any type.

750MB isn't too big for Youtube.

One long upload now will pay off in the long run with regards the quality of the viewing on YouTube.

That's your tracking mate upload speed.

Do you have a friend with decent broadband that you could use to do the upload?

750MB shouldn't take too long on a decent connection.

    Is Youtube timing out?

If youtube is timing out and cancelling the upload you could use google drive. It syncs files with an online drive space so it can work away in the background uploading the file and you can then upload it to youtube from there.
