I need new shampoo & conditioner for coloured hair. My roots are oily but the ends are dry and were very damaged before my last cut. Any suggestions?

Kerastase Bain Satin shampoo for the dryness. My hair sounds similar to yours. Changed shampoos recently to Loreal Inoa to see if it would hold my colour more, but with the dryness i had to go back to Kerastase.

Are there any cheaper but good brands? The salon brands tend to be very expensive!

They are amazing I am currently using the mirage line. For my hair it is definitely the best I have tried better than kerastase and redken.

Aussie is good (but smells very strong, so whether you are into that or not...) and L'Oreal Elvive (red bottle) is also good for coloured hair, and both can be found in most supermarkets!

L'Oreal. The hairdresser told me my hair was really damaged from bleach and I seriously needed to sort it out or it would break and basically fall out. I was a student so couldn't afford the salon brands and she told me to try any shampoo that has repairing and protein written on it.

Chanced the L'Oreal Five Step Repair one (white and red bottle, the one Cheryl Cole advertises). I use the shampoo and the Intensive Deep Conditioner, use Batiste so I don't have to wash my hair as often, and go easy on the heating appliances. I really lash the conditioner on and leave it soak in. A few months later the hairdresser remarked that my hair was back in good condition.

Plus L'Oreal and Kerastase are both under the same company and apparently the Kerastase technology trickles down to the cheaper L'Oreal brand.

Anything that contains no sulfates is what you need, as they are what strips the colour from your hair.

I recommend L'Oreal, but for something cheaper, I have never gone wrong with Alberto Balsam. I stopped buying expensive shampoos, because their range is the best at a low price. I really recommend the Anti-Oxidant blueberry, as this will stop any colour change and really seal it in as I said. Having worked in a salon for a good amount of time, I found the greatest option was an anti-oxidant conditioner as it will bring the PH balance of your hair right to where it should be for a great look.

I'm using Estaline.I think it's a good solution for your coloured hair and your roots. L'Oreal is not bad :D..Korean products is my choice :)

I read that before. What other brands contain no sulfates?

Honestly not sure what cheaper brans haven't got it, but just look on the label for Sodium Laurel Sulfate, and if it isn't there, that's the one you want.

Great. Could it be called anything else?

No it is usually just as 'SLS' or another is 'TLS'. If you read the ingredients it will be there/ not be there.

If you buy Kerastase online it works out much cheaper and it's well worth it. You could ask Santa for one of the sets they have out for Christmas!

L'Oreal Ever Pure shampoos don't have SLS. They are available in Boots. I love the shampoos of the line but the conditioners are not moisturising enough. But the shampoo treats my bleached hair way better than Kerastase Bain Satin at a fraction of the price.

I think the loreal one actually works
doesn't leave my hair all frizzy like the colour ones usually do
