Trilbys in Dublin?

    Hiya gents,

Just curious as to whether anyone can recommend a few shops round Dublin with trilbys. I've already tried H&M, Zara, and some others along Henry street. If there were any, they were all 'one size fits all', which left me curious as my head's rather large and yet these had enough space to accommodate a handful of spuds still.

Specifically, I'm looking for a grey one (herringbone if we're pedantic). M&S had a black one and the Tweed shop on Nassau street's got grey ones, but they're bucket hats rather than trilbys.

I've had a search through this forum but most of the topics are a few years old.

Any guidance would be much appreciated.

    Cheers.

I've never been in it, but have you tried The Hat Shop in St. Stephens Green shopping centre?

I'm sure someone more knowledgeable than myself will turn up with some good info.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I have already as it's next to my office.

Fine spot for flatcaps, but didn't see any trilbys last week.

I was also looking for one, the size for me is the problem as I'd need an XL / 2XL.

Best bet is to go online, http://www.hatsandcaps.co.uk/ would have them in larger sizes.

Shevlins in Cow Lane and Kennedy & McSharry (now in the Powerscourt) are proper gents milliners and hence have a variety of styles and proper sizes in centimetre increments, plus the expertise to tell you which size is best. If it turns out not to fit right you can exchange. Just bought a brown trilby in McSharry's this week myself :)
Buying hats online is a lottery at best I'm afraid, one manufacturer's medium is another's large etc etc.
