Qualified Adult and Separate Payments

My partner is on JSA, and gets a payment for me as a qualified adult (dependent). I am wondering if I can get the QA payment paid separately to me and, if so, if I could get in into my bank account or would I have to collect it?

That is a question for your local office,I can remember it happening in the eighties for various reasons. You would probably have to collect the payment.

Be prepared to bare your soul (reasons wise)if you go down this road.

You should ask at the Dept of Social Protection office. There is provision in cases, usually involving domestic scenarios where QA payment is not being passed on, where the amounts for the main claimant and the QA are added together and halved and paid separately to each. In such cases the QA does not have to sign on separately or necessarily be available for and seeking work. I think it very likely that the QA would have to collect their payment at the Post Office.

my local SW office does this for almost everybody who asks, but i think the claimant has to agree.
