Buying options for iPhone 5

Want to get my wife an iPhone 5. She is PAYG on Vodafone so want to stick to PAYG.

Option 1: Buy it PAYG from Vodafone for €679
Option 2: go to Apple store in London (there on Thursday) and buy unlocked for £529 (approx €649)


Apart from the €30 saving (depending on exchange rate) any other benefit buying direct from the Apple store?

Just to add, she doesn't want a contract

Saw this earlier, it's an award winner and better than what you've linked to from what I've heard.

OP asked about an iPhone, nothing else. Buy it in the Apple store unlocked, it will be locked from O2, save yourself the hassle.

Buy it from apple direct, its factory unlocked from the start and if your GF wants to swap at anytime, she can.

Current mid-market exchange rates put £529 at €654 so if you take into account commission, transactions fees or less favourable exchange rates, depending on how you pay, you're gonna be relatively close to the euro cost of the phone. You might even pay more

Just order from the Apple online store. Apple have caught up on demand too and wait times are only 1 week now.

There's absolutely no point in buying an iPhone on prepay. You'll pay full whack for it and it'll be locked. I've also heard of cases where the shops will refuse to sell one on prepay anyway, as they want to lure contract customers in instead.

Buy it from Apple directly if you're not looking at contracts.

Met a sales executive from Bristol not so long ago and he hated this phone with a vengeance. Total trash he said. He was gagging for an iPhone and used mine on and off for a few hours.

I got mine from Apple Ireland online and use it on 48hours. 10 quid a month.
