Potentially Looking for a business partner

    Hi all!

I have a new venture in mind..not a ground breaking new idea by any means but still one with the potential to make a good business out of.

I currently run a business so don't have loads of time on my hands and for that reason I am considering looking for a business partner. If we got enough customers (only need between 6 - 8 to start well) I could devote the majority of my time to the new biz (as I have a manager for the old one already).

So long story short, I am considering looking for a partner with a strong background in sales. I have the technical know how of this biz but don't have time to do a lot of sales.

What are peoples thoughts on this? Should i just take time out of my current biz and give it a bash myself, or look for someone to go in on this?

If people want to throw they're hat in the ring by all means do.

    Cheers.

Could you employ someone on a commission only basis?

I have thought about this..I could give the sales person €100 per sale? But as I could only take on up to 10 clients would a sales person really be interested in this?

The other option is to send out some emails myself and see how I get on. The market is pretty big and I'd only really need between 6 - 10 clients to make a decent living.

    All replies appreciated!

What would be the sales person's function then once 6-10 clients have been signed up?

Thanks for the sticky didn't see it there. Also looking for advice as much as anything.

If I was to get more than 10 clients I would potentially look to hiring someone or contracting someone so the sales person would still be important.
