For anyone who used Estee Lauder DoubleWear Foundation in the colour "Shell", you might have heard it was discontinued.
    Well, it's coming back!

I emailed Estee Lauder some weeks back to tell them how disappointed I was and they replied today to say they've decided to re-instate the shade, due to customer comments.

    Rejoice Shell lovers!

Is shell lighter or darker than ecru?

Looking at the shade chart on Estee Lauder's website, Ecru looks to be virtually the same as Shell (but hard to judge because they don't have Shell on their site; obviously as it was discontinued).

Shell would be for pale, fair skinned women with pink undertones and it gave you a lovely airbrushed finish, looked flawless and there was no orange-ness whatesover.

Are you pale-skinned? My Mum is fair skinned-wouldn't call her pale-and I think she uses Ecru.

I saw this on their FB page the other page. I use Shell when I don't have fake tan on. I didn't actually know it was discontinued until I saw they were reinstating it!

Ooh didn't know they had a FB page.
I've no idea when they actually discontinued it because I only buy it when I'm running out and I hadn't bought any in about seven months, until about two weeks ago when I went looking for it.
It's great news it's coming back!

Got a bottle today in Debenhams. There was no sign of it coming back in on the debenhams website. There was 15% off so cost €28.90! It is my first time buying a bottle, got a tester pot a few months ago and it is one of the best foundations I have tried. I had not heard it was discontinued but am glad it's back!

Edit- Ah feck, while looking back on my past posts it was bone that I got the tester pot of :( Is the shell lighter or darker than bone?

I think Bone's a little dark on my skin..Shell is lighter, but I guess it depends on whether you have pink or yellow undertones.
I have pink undertones so Bone was dark on me.
It's definitely coming back, trust me on that..they emailed me direct from Estee Lauder :)

Thanks. I would have pink undertones too so the shell should be good, especially if its not darker, although the bone seemed like a good match too. Going to try it out in the morning.

I tried Ivory Nude last week (got a sample in Boots) and although it looked to be the same as Shell, I noticed a slight colour difference along my jawline.
I think if you can see it along your jaw, you'll notice the difference in shades.

Does anyone know if Shell is back on sale yet?
They're advertising the colour on their chart on the EL website but I wonder if Boots/Debenhams in Ireland have it in stock now?

Debenhams Ireland show it as a colour on their website so I would think yes, it's available!

Also, there's 10% off beauty products on the debenhams website today!

    Ooh yes!
Thanks so much! I've been lost without my favourite foundation.
Off to the shops I go :D
