Basic kit for SSD is fine. A CPU cooler would be nice, even if you're not overclocking (you should) as it'll cut down on sound. How much money have you to spare for extra stuff?

Actually I will probably OC, so thanks for that.
I also want to run a quite system where possible, will the case be quite or are there better noise reduction options?

I can go another €100 without any problem.

    Cheers

Just wondering if I could improve on the case?

I have a Antec P180 in my other PC and it's nice and quite with plenty of fans (4 I think).

    What is the modern equivlent?

Antec have increased the range and I can't see anything like the P180
I'm not into blue lights, windows or almighty fans on the top...I just want quite and efficient air flow.

    thanks

You could pick the non ugly Shinobi instead :p. How much more are you willing to spend? You probably aren't going to do much better than that in the €50 price range.

If you are looking towards the higher end cases, the Fractal R4 comes highly recommended around these parts but it is nearly twice the price.

I like much of Corsairs range as well myself, generally good looking, quality cases that aren't too blingy :).

Quiet cases include: the Define R4 (mentioned above), the 550D from Corsair, and the P280 from Antec (liberal use of R4 traits here) or the Ghost from BitFenix. Of those, I'd probably go with the R4.

Edit: Though if you're ever going to consider watercooling (the ultimate in silence and overclocking) the 550D gives you more options.

Thanks guys, chose the P280 case.

Now I've ordered, whats the best (read cheapest) way to trasfer the money to HarwareVersand.de?

Online transfer. Mine was free (student account with Ulster Bank).

thanks, AIB online want me to order a card reader, more delays....
I'll call in and see if I can do it there...

Nice one, the AIB card reader arrived in 1 day!

I'll post photos of the build when it arrives...

    Thanks for the advice guys.

    Guys,
I have to return my Radeon HD 7950 because it arrived faulty... see other thread on this subject.

But I think I'd like to improve on the card if possible, I'm not impressed with the flimsy build quality of the Radeon HD 7950, it seem so light weight compared to my older but great 8800GTX which is a tank in comparison.

If I was to spend 350Euro, what the best card out there ?
    possible options;
    GeForce GTX660Ti at 300 Euro
    GTX 660Ti at 319 Euro.

I'm going with Komplette this time because I can't wait for the RMA turnaround time...

    Thanks

It's 2Gb vs the 3Gb on te Radeon... I assume it will drive my 1660 x1440 Catleap ok?

    Out of stock unfortunitely...

I don't get the memory spec, it's hard to get feel for what difference 3Gb will bring over 2Gb, both seem to drive 2650 x 1440 video.

There seem to be several makers of 660Ti 3Gb, does it really matter if its EVGA or ASUS etc???

    IMHO...

For 2560x1440 a HD7950 is your best bet.

It can be overclocked too, and will match an overclocked GTX 680 in a best-case scenario.

And what about the make, Asus, Saphire, Gigabyte etc...or does it not make any difference?

As long as it has a good cooler, you should be fine. Look up some reviews!

As fat as I can make out, most online reviews are totally biased since they receive a free demo. It's hard to get a real brass tacks review these days.

But thatks, I'll look around to see what the folks on this forum are saying.
