Looking for a Kryptonite New York 16mm standard Lock for city center bike security, they're expensive so trying to get a good deal. Thanks in advance.

    Amazon are slightly dearer.
I use this one, its lighter , cheaper and almost as good as the NY.

Are Amazon.co.uk not the cheapest? £55, sold by Tredz and fulfilled by Amazon, so hopefully should qualify for free delivery.

The one linked to above is the Fahgettaboudit, which is stronger, more expensive and heavier.

I use the Fahgettaboudit mini (18mm shackle). Smaller than the standard so less room to get a lever into it. Locks happily to sheffield stands and railings. I also use a kryptoflex cable for the wheels.

Bloody heavy though. I don't carry it on the bike except when going into the city centre.

What about those foldable Abus ones, Borda I think they're called. Anyone have one? Looks easier to carry, but probably still really heavy.

No idea what there like, but i'd never go for a lock that has movable parts, unless is was a secondary lock. Those mini u locks are excellent, small, portable and the size of them makes them more difficult to break. I use two, an abus and a kryptonite mini u.

    Sorry for bumping this thread.

I need another one of these locks as my niece just purchased a bike. I advised her not to take it to school without a Kryptonite New York.

I managed to pick one up on sale myself for €80 last summer but it looks they are now averaging in excess of €105 in the bike shops across the city.

Anyone know of them on sale anywhere?

It was less than 70 on amazon when I bought mine a while back (3/4 months ago) including delivery.
