    Hi there

We are building our house at the moment and looking to install geothermal heating.

If you have geothermal and are happy with it could you please PM details of supplier?

Would very much appreciate it. So many companies out there doing it but would like to have recommendations from people who have their heating up and running and are happy with it.

    We are located in Donegal.

    Thanks

I dont have a Geothermal heat pump myself but one thing you need to make sure is that the whole heating system is designed to work with a heat pump.

A lot of the horror stories about heat pumps not working or being expensive to run are due to the fact that the underfloor heating wasnt designed to run from the limited heat available from a heat pump, but from an oil or gas boiler.

Some times oversized heat pumps are fitted to try and work around this but this is not the answer either.

the heat requirements for each room needs to be determined, then each heating zone can be worked out(loop length, pipe centers etc), to suit the required room temperature and the water circulating temperature.

Getting recommendations is a good start, Also make sure the firm you use can supply and explain the information and calculations they are using to work out the requirements.
