Can anyone give me some advice on the following.

I am looking to buy a laptop in the €400-€500 range, i have only ever owned two laptops, my first one was an Acer, which i had for 2 years an had no problems, and my current one which is also Acer is now 4 years old, and still no problems, i notice Acer gets alot of bad remarks on here, no idea why, i have never had any trouble with mine, and 4 years on, running on core 2 duo and windows vista, it seems to be having a pretty good lifetime.

But anyway, i am looking for a laptop that has a built in memory card reader and bluetooth, although the latter is not a major concern.

I also want one that has Windows 7 home premium, i have tried Windows 8 and i hate it and certainly dont want to own a laptop with that installed, i know this will limit my options as most of the laptops will now be shipped with Windows 8.

I have checked Amazon.co.uk, Laptopsdirect.ie, Dell.ie and Argos, and nothing has stood out at me unfortunately. Dell have had some good black friday discounts this weekend on windows 7 laptops but some of the horrendous reviews left by people who bought them put me off straight away.

Can anyone direct me to some other reliable websites to purchase from and who will ship to Ireland?

Also i notice alot of laptops are still being sold with intel pentium, i honestly thought that these type of processors would be gone by now, its very old, and quite frankly has alot of complaints, but if its a must, are they very far behind the lowest spec of an i3?? And is there anyone in particular which would suffice.

    Thanks :D

You could just buy your laptop with whatever then downgrade to windows 7. Even though windows 8 is just windows 7 with a fancy gui but you can even disable the metro interface which makes it the same as windows 7.
