    Hello all,

All advise will be greatly appreciated :)

Second hand Rotex type supercharger for sale on dtdirl for a while now at a fairly cheap price.

But whats your budget and is your insurance company mod friendly and willing to insure power adding modifications?

    Wouldn't be mad on a Supercharged K20!

Buddyclub stuff is great for the Hondas. If you could pick up a Buddyclub header and a Hondata ecu it would be nice.

Most dc5 decats come as part of a 4-2-1 manifold. Most :)

I know the DC sports 4-2-1 has a decat as part of it

Having an integrated decat will make it a major pain in the backside come NCT time though. Swapping a Decat out is a pain in the backside, let alone a manifold.

The DC5 tends to run lean with a decat given the have a proper o2 sensor rather than a 3 wire lambda so if you decat then you'd need a remap if you want the engine to last.

If it was mine I'd go with a set of coilovers, DI Autosport in Kilcoole do the BC coilovers which are decent bang for buck and then look into a header and ECU, it'd be the Buddyclub header for me and Hondata KPro. There is a Neptune ECU on the horizon for the K-Series too but I'm not sure when or if it's been launched yet which would be my first choice but go with the advice of whoever is tuning the car on this

For the header and ECU combo I'd be expecting to pay around 2k to do it properly. It can be done cheaper but do it right if you're going to do it at all

I think you mean it runs rich?

    No, I dont :-)

The ecu will be fuelling to hit the target afr, removing the cat without telling the ecu will cause the car to run lean

Whats the budget and what do you want from it?

I wouldnt be too keen on coilovers unless you are going to bring it on track.

Half decent header, de-cat and some sort of fuel management system would sort you out a few BHP. Have you got an Induction kit on it? Research these properly, i wouldnt go for some random short ram intake off ebay.

Dont want coilovers as its lowered nicely, I have an induction kit and a cat back exhaust but just want something to give it another bit of power.

What would you recomend getting? I know Drive N Style in Roscommon have 4 branch and de-cat for €220 but someone said above that i would have to remap the car then.

Have you got a mappable ECU?

To get the best out of your collective set of modifications when you have fitted all your bits.

No I just have the standard ECU....But I am willing to spend a few €'s but i dont want to turbo or supercharge it as i still want to be able to get it to pass the NCT every year...I dont mind having to change the exhaust for instance once a year

Should be no reason a proper turbo supercharger or any reasonable modification should not pass the NCT. But if thats not what your looking for that's fair enough.

    • What are your power goals?
    • What kind of budget are you willing to spend?

The above questions will dictate your approach to modifications.

This may help give you an idea of what results to expect with what modification set-up did when Dyno tested.

Yes, your next step then will be a manifold/de-cat and a mappable ECU.

€220 sounds to 'cheap' for a quality part.

My powergoals are get as much as possible without doing anything drastic like turbo/supercharger

I am thinking down the lines of a 4-2-1 Manifold and a RBD inlet Manifold and either a Hondata ECU or a Neptune ECU and then a good re-map?

    Or what do ye think?????

    Ok

First off Neptune is an OBD2 Ecu that is not comparable with DC5 and is for the older generation of ecus used on B series and D series.

Your options for dc5 are most likely to be KPro or if you have very deep pockets other options are open to you.
