RVP again; may God have mercy on all our souls.

Tough one for me, as a Spurs fan I can't give it to Suarez, Berba and Giroud have tough Fixtures.
May have to give it to a midfielder, Mata home to Fulham, even Rafael home to west ham are in contention.

as a Spurs fan I can't give it to Suarez,
    :confused::confused:
Why not?? You can't let your support for a particular team interfere with you FPL choices. Thats just crazy if you take the game in any was seroiusly.

    Hypothetical situation;
Last day of the season. You're joint top of your private league with €700 going to the winner. Your Spurs team with nothing to play for are away against Man United who need a win to guarantee them the title. You have an on fire RVP in your team but you can't captain him because he's playing against your team.............??????? You lose the €700 because of an RVP hattrick.

All true, at this stage of the season however I'm not prepared to cheer a guy on scoring against the team I've supported for 30 years, I don't see it as a big thing, whoever gets my armband will be in a position to potentially score big points, Suarez might score on wednesday but I don't see him running riot.

Anyone thinking rvp will be rested probably a good chance to give him a rest before the city game.Have rvp and aguero theres a chance both mightnt start am I mad to be considering bringing in hernandez as my 3rd striker just for this gw and making him capt.

For me it is between Hazard and Crouch at this moment.
I won't captain Suarez, with my luck it is 10 points minimum...
I'll let you know who i choose, so you will know who will not score more than 2 points.

Crouch is never a captain choice.

Rvp along with all the Senior United players should be rested against Cluj next week in CL before the the city game .

See no reason to rest them now except maybe Rafael who has played a lot lately .

RVP to rested now or on Saturday?

it's him or Tevez for me this week.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,094 ✭✭✭SpaceCowb0y

I've gone with Tevez this week, so you can all rest safe in knowing that now he no longer has the armband in my team RVP is going to score a hat-trick:rolleyes:

Unless i bottle it last minute tomorrow evening and switch it back, in which case we are all screwed!:pac:

Neither. He will play both and sit out the CL game. May be substituted early-ish in either game if Man U are winning easily.

Agreed, United will field a weak team again in the CL, they have already won the Group and don't care if they lose games.

Fergie has his eye on getting the PL title back this year, and after games like Norwich and going behind against QPR, he'll look to 'hammer' West Ham tomorrow. Full strength squad imo.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,589 ✭✭✭✭Necronomicon

^ Agreed, with two consecutive poor outings and the decent enough form of West Ham I don't think he'll be resting players. Though whether Hernandez has done enough to get into the first XI and who he'd replace is another matter...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,706 ✭✭✭premierstone

Mata for me, two reasons, firstly I have swore I will not under any circumstances have that judas basta*d RVP in my team this year and secondly Fulham are cat away from home :D

Mata and Chelsea have not been doing it up for me these past few weeks, unfortunately my front 3 (Suarez, Tevez, and Ba) don't look so hot for the captain's armband either. I've gotta give it to Sessegnon, who I just transferred in for Nolan.

He replaced ashley young on saturday didnt he ?

Ferg should make it a permanent fixture

Have to agree, but having Berbatov/Suarez and Hazard to choose from, I lean towards Crouch on this one occasion... I need a bit of luck this week.

This is my fear Hernandez starting potentially diminishes rvps attacking returns as he will play further forward than rvp or even worse at the expense of rvp. Having said that due to kagawa nani and valencia being injured he will probably play a front three of RVP hernanadez Rooney.

RVP again; may God have mercy on all our souls.

Oh...I'm going to take a deep breath here as RVP should have produced double figure retures in each of the last two games.

United were unlucky to come up against a QPR team who were all out to impress their new manager. Had they come up against a QPR with Hughes still in charge, they could have pummelled them by 6 or more goals. In addition, SAF started Young, Fletcher and Scholes together which is a team devoid of attacking energy in midfield (and Young is sh!te).

    Now onto home vs WHU...

Anderson is almost guaranteed to start, Hernandez should start ahead of Young and Scholes is suspended. Given Giggs' horror show at Norwich, I see Cleverly starting. that would give...

    CARRICK
    ----ANDO
    CLEV----
    ROONEY

    RVP
    CHICO

There are goals there, especially if they score early. So with that, RVP captain for me.

i could see Fergie going for a 5-3-2, to give the team some width, if Valencia's still injured that is, and given that Young's form has been poor. am tempted to lash the capt'cy on (Steven) Fletcher later on as long as he's confirmed for the starting XI. For once we get that benefit as we can change our teams up til' 7.30 this evening

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,466 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

    yup, RVP it is.

Welbeck isn't playing well enough to usurp him in the team, which was my main worry. if Welbeck was playing better, there would be half a chance of rotation.

that'll be no use for the United and City games, as they're on tomorrow.

Tevez for me but I've had several weeks of duff captain choices, have suffered badly because of it!

What team news would it take for you to change your captaincy to Fletcher? A bout of food poisoning hitting the QPR squad?

I can't think of many other (and realistic) scenarios where it may be helpful.

easy on, chief. Qpr at home is still a nice fixture. and it takes away the worry of your captain possibly starting on the bench

United have destroyed teams using no width (vs Newcastle 0-3) and I can see the same compact midfield tomorrow night. I recon Valencia is out.

Fletcher is also a decent choice. The only reason I didn't bring him in last night is that I read there was a small doubt about that game going ahead due to the amount of rain that had fallen in the area. I think it will go ahead but it planted the seed of doubt!

    Good luck though

That's not true at all , perhaps last season but this year fulham have had decent performances away from home, arsenal away is a perfect example of this

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 386 ✭✭clusk007

This is a tricky one for me. West Ham have a decent defence and have shown they can stifle the top teams. They are very solid at the back. Look at their game against city three weeks ago.
Rvp while unlucky at QPR for me doesn't seem like a solid captain choice especially with him playing deeper if Hernandez plays.

I'm leaning towards Suarez not only for the differential (as I know most people will have Rvp as captain) but also for the fact that he is in top form and Spurs have a very leaky defence. you are guaranteed he will play out and out striker.

    This has me torn!

ah jesus dont say that. I just brought him in.
Last weeks transfer was Valencia...also captained him

at the moment its fletcher :( , but could easily switch to Suarez

Anyone think Aguero is a viable option?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,033 ✭✭✭who_ru

Yes Aguero is a good shout i think as is the bauld Tevez.

i have 3 strikers but am only playing 2 - the question is which 2.

    Berbatov, Giroud, RvP.

i think based on the fact that the Berb takes pennos and has been doing well lately makes me lean more toward him and leaving Monsiuer Giroud on the bench and one last time give the armband to RvP.

But the man city duo could do a lot of damage at wigan.

I want to play a 5 man midfield, 4 of which are at home. the only one away from home is Sterling away to Spurs but i am tempted to bench him and play all 3 strikers.
