    Hi all,

Previously, I thought that my OPF payment would end in January due to the new regulations around age etc. However, I just discovered that as my son is in full time education, I will actually continue to receive this payment until the end of the academic year.

This is such a huge relief! However, I was wondering if anybody knew what the procedure is here. Am I required to provide proof that he is in fact still at school? Or will they already have this on file? I just want to ensure that my payment is not cut in January because they are unaware that he is actually still in school.

    Many thanks!

When I entered in 4 th year a few years ago. I got a letter which the school was to stamp to prove I was in school.

So i imagine in a few weeks you'll get letter from department that deals with welfare. It's in letterkenny.

I would email to make sure as they never ever ask their phones

Letterkenny deals with child benefit not one parent family.

I suppose it would depend on when you were granted ofp as if your son is under 16 legally he has to be attending school ... see below for cut off ages

    Thanks everyone

No he's actually 17, so originally I thought it would be cut off in January but then I noticed the note saying I can continue to get it until the end of school year.
