    Hey people!!

During the summer I returned from holiday to find that there was a pool of water in the rear passeneger well. I thought a bottle of water had spilt but there was no bottle. After lots of work with towels and a hairdryer it seemed to be cleared.

Over the last month I've noticed lots, and I mean lots of condensation inside the car, windscreen, backwindow, all windows. So much that yesterday with the frost the inside of the windscreen was iced up. I've also noticed mold growing in the same foot well.
Any suggestions?? I maybe think that the seal on the back window maybe leaking somewhere or the pollen filter may be faulty causing this excessive condensation. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Are your window washer jets working ok ?

Older VW's were a bitch for leaves getting into the plastic ducting at the bottom of the windscreen where the cabin air is drawn from, there is a drain but the leaves rot and block it up, then the pollen filter gets soaked and the water gets into the passenger footwell.
You might expect VW to fix known problems when replacing model ranges but it probably needs to be cleaned out and the pollen filter replaced.

I had this a few years ago.
Easy fix and then dry out the car.

Yep window washers working. The pool of water was actually behind the drivers seat, sorry bout the typo!!!!! I thought that about the pollen filter, I used to park beneath trees a lot so the leaves where always around that area. Am I being over board in thinking the seals somewhere in the car could be the problem???

The pool of water in my Passat was behind the front seats..
I'd say go for the usual common problem and if that isn't the problem go looking for something new and unique..
Have the bulkhead area cleaned out, on mine there was a drain in beneath the battery that got blocked, total bollix to clean out too.. Mine was so bad that after rain when I took the first sharp corner water would spew out from beneath the bonnet

I kinda have a similiar problem. My car (2007 Golf) fogs up even on a normal day compared to the 2008 golf we have in the driveway. I know they fog up easily but should I be concerned?

Had similar on my car, replaced the pollen filters and cleaned out all the crud. Also picked up some calcium chloride crystals (think kontrol was the brand name) in woodies and left them in the car for a couple of days to remove some of the moisture from the air.

My 01 golf has been a nightmare for water getting into it. I would have problems behind and in front of the passengers seat. The latest leakage is caused by the sun roof. This is on the drivers side this time. The pipe that connects to the sun roof is rusted and on its last legs.

I had a 2000 Bora with a similar problem, except it was the front passenger floor that filled up with water.

The root of my problem was a cover over the pollen filter on the right hand side below the windscreen. I had my windscreen replaced and it looks like the broke this cover when putting it back in, or possibly replacing the pollen filter, and water was dripping into the car.

I got a new cover and the problem was fixed. The cover itself takes a bit of shimming to get it back in, this is probably how it was broken originally.

    hope this helps.
