toilet took ages to fill, so i was checking it out, and the water flow was slowed down, as the plastic fittings in the toilet were caked up with limescale.

so i screwed off the ball cock, and there was a small plastic pin that popped out, and at the same time the toilet flushed, so i guess this plastic pin went out with the water and down the toilet and gone..

this plastic pin , as the ball cock rose in the cistern, closes off the water flow.

i guess now that i have to buy a new ballcock fitting, as doubt that you can buy these seperate? or can you..

all the fittings in the cistern are plastic.

are these a standard size fitting? and would homebase stock them?

    thanks for any advice..

B & Q generaly have a good stock if you live near them.
There used to be an outfit called Smallmans on Batchelors Walk /Quay who were good at stocking small parts like that.
Don't know if they are still trading?

Generally not sold separate and probably quicker just to buy a complete valve, 10-20 euro.
